Portinatx Lighthouse and Far del Moscarter Coast, Ibiza.
In 2014 whilst holidaying in Portinatx , Ibiza I set a day aside to walk to the lighthouse along the coast. The distance was approx. 2.5 miles (4km) from my hotel the Club Vista Bahia. Despite the heat the walk was much better than staying in that hotel, I have heard it has since closed I can not say I am surprised. The staff seems unmotivated, the food was boring, and the hotel was not the cleanest. I will say that the hotel offered some of the best sunset's I have ever seen and the views along the coast were agreeable. Anyway this is not a hotel review. The walk up considered of me getting lost in some woodland but eventually I found the lighthouse and the views were fantastic. The lighthouse is on a stretch of coast line known as Far del Moscarter. The building of the lighthouse commenced in 1975 and it is the tallest in the Balearic Islands with a focal plane of 52m. The lighthouse has been fully automated since construction was completed so has never featured a living quarters, comprising a concrete tower only. The Lighthouse opened in 1977.
